Pregnancy asks a lot of the body.
As your baby grows, your center of gravity changes, your joints and muscles adapt, your posture shifts, and your body has to continually adjust to accommodate those changes. At the same time, you may be working, exercising, caring for other children, and preparing for one of the most physically demanding experiences your body will go through: birth.
I often like to think of pregnancy as training for an athletic event.
And birth? Birth is an athletic event.
You would not expect an athlete to show up to a marathon without preparing their body for the demands of the race. Pregnancy and birth deserve that same mindset—not because pregnancy is something that needs to be “fixed,” but because your body is adapting to an incredible physical challenge.
Dr. Linde is Here to Help
Dr. Trieloff is a licensed Doctor of Chiropractic with a special interest in pregnancy, postpartum care, pediatrics, and family wellness. She has pursued additional education specifically focused on caring for pediatric and perinatal patients, including pediatric certification through the Peak Potential Institute with Dr. Martin Rosen, coursework through the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA), and training in Sacro-Occipital Technique (SOT).
Her passion for working with pregnant women and families is also personal. After becoming a mother herself and navigating pregnancy, birth, the NICU, and early motherhood, Dr. Linde developed an even deeper appreciation for listening to parents, understanding the physical demands of pregnancy, and supporting women through each stage of their journey.

“Pregnancy is one of the biggest physical changes a woman’s body will experience, and I believe we should approach it with the same preparation we would give any major physical event. Birth requires strength, mobility, endurance, and the ability to adapt. My goal is to help women feel supported throughout pregnancy, address pain or movement limitations when they arise, and help them feel confident in what their bodies are capable of.”

Pain May Be Common, But It Doesn’t Mean You Have to Ignore It
Back pain, pelvic discomfort, hip pain, and other aches are common during pregnancy. But common does not mean you have to simply live with it.
Your body is changing rapidly, and discomfort can have many contributing factors. Changes in posture, mobility, muscle strength, joint movement, and the way you move throughout the day can all play a role.
Instead of simply asking, “Where does it hurt?” we can also ask:
Why is it hurting?
What is your body having difficulty adapting to? Are certain areas not moving well? Are other areas working harder to compensate? Are you having difficulty maintaining strength or stability as your body changes?
These are the types of questions Dr. Linde considers when working with pregnant patients.

Treating the Pregnant Patient Like an Athlete
When Dr. Linde works with a pregnant patient, she doesn’t want to look at her simply as someone who is pregnant and experiencing pain.
She wants to look at her as an individual whose body is preparing for a major physical event.
That means looking at movement, mobility, stability, strength, and function and considering how those things are changing throughout pregnancy.
A pregnant patient may have different goals depending on where she is in her pregnancy. Maybe she wants to continue exercising comfortably. Maybe she wants to keep working without constant back pain. Maybe getting through a full day with her other children has become difficult. Or maybe her biggest goal is simply to feel more comfortable in her changing body.
The treatment plan should reflect those individual goals.
Preparing for Birth
Birth requires strength, mobility, endurance, coordination, and the ability to adapt to changing demands.
Just like an athlete prepares for their event, preparing the body during pregnancy can involve maintaining appropriate movement and physical capacity throughout the different stages of pregnancy.
Chiropractic care can be one part of that preparation.
Dr. Linde’s role is not to promise a specific birth outcome or claim that chiropractic care can control the birth process. Instead, she focuses on helping patients move well, feel supported, and maintain appropriate function throughout pregnancy.
Depending on the individual patient, chiropractic care may include gentle, pregnancy-appropriate techniques to address areas of restricted movement or discomfort. Dr. Linde may also incorporate movement education and recommendations that support the patient’s overall goals.
And importantly, chiropractic care does not have to happen in isolation.
Pregnant patients may benefit from working with their obstetric provider, physical therapist, fitness professional, or other members of their healthcare team. When appropriate, Dr. Linde believes in collaborating with those providers to make sure the patient receives the care she needs.
Pregnancy Doesn’t End at Birth
Preparing for an athletic event doesn’t mean the work stops when the event is over.
The same is true for pregnancy.
After birth, your body is recovering while you are simultaneously adjusting to a completely new routine. You may be feeding a baby, carrying a car seat, getting up throughout the night, sitting in new positions, and spending hours holding and caring for your child.
That can place new demands on your body.
Postpartum care should consider where you are in your recovery, what you’re experiencing, and what you want to get back to doing.
For some women, that might mean returning to exercise. For others, it may mean being able to comfortably carry their baby, return to work, get back to recreational activities, or simply make it through the day without persistent discomfort.

Chiropractic Care During Pregnancy Should Be Individualized
There isn’t one treatment approach that is right for every pregnant patient.
Your stage of pregnancy, symptoms, medical history, movement, comfort level, and goals all matter.
Dr. Linde’s goal is to create a plan that is appropriate for you and your body, while communicating clearly about what we’re doing and why.
Pregnancy is an incredible physical adaptation. You don’t need to approach it with the mindset that pain is something you simply have to tolerate, nor do you need to treat your body as if something is wrong with it simply because it is changing.
Your body is doing something extraordinary. Let’s help you prepare for it.
