Knee Pain During Activity? It Might Not Be Your Knee

leg painApr 23rd  2026

Knee pain is one of the most common issues we see at Midland Sports Rehab and Active Orthopedics. Whether it shows up during running, lifting, walking upstairs, or even just getting up from a chair, it can quickly become frustrating and limiting.

But here’s something most people don’t realize: in many cases, the knee isn’t actually the source of the problem.

The knee is often the victim of dysfunction happening elsewhere in the body.

Children today are more active—and more sedentary—than ever before. Between heavy backpacks, prolonged screen time, sports participation, and rapid growth, many kids experience spinal stress earlier than parents realize. While aches and pains are often dismissed as “normal growing pains,” they may actually signal underlying postural or spinal issues.

Pediatric chiropractic care offers a gentle, proactive way to support a child’s developing spine and overall movement health.

Common Problems Affecting Children’s Spines

Children’s bodies grow quickly, and during growth spurts the muscles, joints, and nervous system must adapt rapidly.

Always a good and friendly experience! I had not been going there like I used too. Which was always a good experience but my insurance ran out. I recently went for a consultation on several matters. They got me in right away. Glad to see some of the staff I used to work with. I only had a consultation but I was extremely happy with the results I had and the compassion I received. Very easy to talk too and ask questions. Didn’t feel rushed at all and Dr entertained new sometimes unrelated questions as they came up or he brought up new items to consider. Very satisfied with my visit and money very well spent. I’ll be going back for sure if new issues arrive.

As a chronic pain patient with my spine and sciatic nerve, I have been in physical therapy most my life, but most recently two years with Active Orthopedics and now Midland Sports Rehab. They have served me well and kept me going with my active lifestyle. Great service, knowledgeable, caring and lots of options for treating my pain while helping me keep strong. I am happy and pleased my doctor sent me here.

The best of the best! Dr. Berard has made my life sim much better. I can move around more finally. The massage therapy has also done wonders and finally not to mention the Acupuncture. I am in a lot better place than I was before seeing them after surgery didn’t help. Highly recommend!
