I love Courtney! She is the acupuncturist there that has helped this veteran in multiple ways including, mostly getting rid of my tinnitus which was constant and VERY intrusive. I also have multiple other disorders such as stenosis in my lower spine as well as my neck that radiate pain down my arms and legs and with her help I don’t have to take damaging pain killer’s just to go about my day. I have MUCH more mobility now than when I started. I’ve seen her now about 14 times and every time I feel more relaxed and less pain. I used to see a chiropractor, I’ve tried a few, but usually I would be in more pain after. I can’t recommend acupuncture enough and I hope many more young people go into this as a profession.

The Benefits Of Treatment For Sports Injuries

Our highly trained sports certified providers in Midland and Freeland, MI are movement experts. After conducting a thorough assessment of your condition, they will create individualized treatment plans. These plans help achieve your objectives based on your personal needs.

Your recovery plan can include manual therapy, stretching to improve balance and mobility, and strengthening exercises to improve the affected/surrounding areas. All of which will improve your range of motion and reduce scar tissue.

What Types of Sports Injuries Can PT Help?

The most common forms of sports injury include:

  • Sprain – When a ligament linking one bone to another is stretched beyond its limits, a sprain occurs. When it happens one time, it is more likely to happen again.
  • Knee injuries – Your knee is your body’s most complex joint, and it is also one of the most commonly damaged. Knee problems can range from minor aches and pains that stretch from your hip to your knee to more serious issues. Such as an ACL rupture.
  • Strain or “pulled muscle” – A strain is also known as a “pulled muscle,” and it occurs when a tendon that connects the muscle to the bone extends the muscle beyond its limits. The tendon is more likely to be strained again after it has been overstretched.
  • Shin splints – Usually, this pain is caused by tension exerted on the shinbone and the underlying connective tissues. Shin splints are painful and frequently debilitating. However, wearing proper footwear, warming up before exercise, and strengthening the muscles of the heart and leg can prevent them.
