Dr. Jeffrey Berard
Owner and Chiropractor
Dr. Berard is a co-owner of Midland Sports Rehab with his wife Kristin. He is a licensed Doctor of Chiropractic who graduated from Northwestern Health Sciences University and has been in private practice since 2000.
Dr. Berard has a unique skill set that has been developed over the last 20 years working with athletes from all over the globe as well as developing a niche utilizing a specific technique developed for the average person suffering with chronic lower back and neck pain. Dr. Berard is also certified by the Titleist Performance Institute as well as the Professional Sports Care (PSC) organization providing comprehensive Chiropractic services to the PGA Tour players and Champion Tour.
Dr. Berard focuses on treatment of not only the spine, but the Hip, Knee, Shoulder, Neck and Ankle, as well. As a certified provider of ART (Active Release Technique), he treats various muscle conditions with this GOLD standard soft tissue muscle treatment. Dr. Berard is often sought after for his expertise in sports rehab and recovery, as well as those patients who are looking for a second opinion to treat or manage various nerve, muscle and skeletal conditions.
Jeff and his wife Kristin are big supporters of local health, sports, and recreation programs. They love getting involved and have a regularly active role in the Midland Community with their young daughter, Annabelle.
Owner, Nutrition Specialist and Pilates, Fitness and Yoga Teacher
Kristin co-owns Midland Sports Rehab with her husband Dr. Berard. Kristin is a Certified Nutrition Specialist, Personal Trainer, Group Fitness instructor, CYT-200 Yoga Teacher and Comprehensive Pilates Instructor training clients on the Cadillac, Reformer, Chair, Barrels and Mat. Her passion is coaching individuals to obtain Fat Loss, Metabolic Recovery, Muscle building, Pre-Post Natal and overall lifetime goals health and wellness goals. Kristin is a retired Pro Physique and Figure Competitor and coaches’ clients around the United States in Natural Bodybuilding, Bikini, Figure and Physique competitions.

Dr. Eric Fridline, DPT
Dr. Fridline attained his undergraduate degree in health science from University of Michigan. He then went on to receive his Doctor of Physical Therapy at the University of Michigan in 2017. Dr. Fridline has been working in the physical therapy field since 2007 and has a strong passion for helping people achieve their goals. He is the highest medical certified Titleist Performance Institute provider in the state of Michigan and specializes in running technique analysis. His areas of interest include general orthopedics, post-surgical care, sports medicine, injury prevention, and pain science. During his down time, he enjoys playing guitar, ice hockey in the winters and golf during the summers.
Dr. Fridline’s approach to physical therapy is to develop a connection with the patient from the start, listen to their goals and develop a plan that focuses on the patients need to get back to life and activities with little to no pain. He always starts with a full assessment on the first visit and at each visit following, increases the intensity and challenge of the physical therapy movements and exercises of both his and the patient’s capabilities and expectations. Dr. Fridline’s goal is to increase the patients range of motion, strength, flexibility, and stabilization by the end of the treatment program. Dr. Shane Meyers, DC
Dr. Meyers graduated from Logan University in 2019. He is a licensed Doctor of Chiropractic and also received his Masters degree in Sports Science and Rehabilitation. He studied biomedical science at Grand Valley State University before heading to Logan for chiropractic school. Dr. Meyers has a passion for working with active Individuals and athletes of all ages. He has worked alongside a variety of different athletes allowing him to better understand their movement patterns and mechanisms of injury. In his free time he enjoys weight lifting, fishing, boating, playing hockey and spending time with his friends and family.
Dr. Meyers treats all areas of the body from the ankle to the neck but focuses heavily on the neck and spine. His treatments include stabilizing and strengthening the core through a variety of treatments with our Midland Sports Rehab exclusive Low Back Pain recovery program. Dr. Meyers is trained in the McKenzie Method which assesses the patient for the best treatment solution for back, neck and extremity problems.
Courtney Wilson, MSTOM R.Ac
Courtney is a graduate of Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in Chicago. There she earned her Master of Science degree in Traditional Oriental Medicine (MSTOM). During school she completed over 2500 hours of classroom time, and over 900 hours of clinical work at the Pacific College school clinic. Courtney is board certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) as a Diplomate of Oriental Medicine, which includes both acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine. Courtney has been practicing Acupuncture since 2012. She is a registered Acupuncturist in Michigan (R.Ac) and a member of the Michigan Association of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (MAAOM). Courtney values the patient/practitioner relationship and makes sure her patients are listened to and feel comfortable during treatments. She treats a wide variety of aliments with special interests in women’s health, infertility, and pediatric care.

Mary Miller, AT ATC
Athletic Trainer and Running Technique Specialist
Mary grew up in West Branch, MI and is a graduate of Central Michigan University’s Athletic Training/Sports Medicine Program. She brings 10+ years of professional clinical experience as an Athletic Trainer to Midland Sports Rehab and has been working in the chiropractic and outpatient rehabilitation setting with us since 2016. Mary spent several years as the Head Athletic Trainer in the secondary school setting in the Chicagoland area while also assisting orthopedic physicians in the clinical setting. She specializes in working with all types of athletes but has focused her training the last several years on preventing and treating running injuries. Mary earned her certification as a Running Technique Specialist and enjoys running herself. Since coming to work at Midland Sports Rehab, Mary has successfully implemented outreach athletic training services to community athletic programs and continues to bring awareness to the need for injury prevention and early intervention with sports-related injuries in our community.

Samantha Kukla, LMT
Licensed Massage Therapist, Office Manager, and Billing Coordinator
Sam grew up in Bay City, shortly after graduating from high school she moved to Colorado. After working and attending school for a little over a year, she returned to the tri-city area to pursue a career in massage therapy. She graduated as a Certified Medical Massage Therapist from the Flint Institute of Massage Therapy in December 2009. She became licensed through the state of Michigan in 2014 and continues to expand her knowledge and education in the massage therapy field, recently receiving her certification in Manual Lymphatic Drain Massage. Sam enjoys working at Midland Sports Rehab because of the collaborative mindset, being able to use the knowledge of other providers to help treat patients efficiently and effectively. Seeing patients improve from visit to visit and function better in their day to day lives is why Sam loves her job. Over the years of working with Midland Sports Rehab, she has expanded her roles and has taken on the positions of Office and Billing Manager. Sam hopes to continue her career with us for many years to come.

Liz Fries, LMT
Licensed Massage Therapist
Elizabeth grew up in Hemlock. After graduating high school, she attended college for a year and then found a passion for massage therapy while attending the Flint Institute of Massage Therapy. Elizabeth graduated as a Certified Massage Therapist in December of 2003. She always knew she wanted to be helping people and has been able to do so through massage therapy. In 2016 she started working for Midland Sports Rehab where she has been able to apply her love for massage not only on athletes but anyone dealing with muscular issues.
Liz has been massaging for over 15 years, so she has a lot of tools and tricks up her sleeve when it comes to treating our patients. Most patients seek Liz for deep tissue and sports massage, but she can also be seen using Bamboo Stick therapy and Hot Stones within her sessions as well. Schedule with Liz for all those post lifting, running or high intensity training sessions to speed up your recovery and give your body the care it needs.
Brad Pruett, ATC
Clinical Program Manager and Athletic Trainer
Brad Pruett currently serves as clinical program manager and patient advocate for Midland Sports Rehab. He is a licensed athletic trainer and certified corrective exercise specialist with 13 years of clinical experience at the collegiate level. He obtained his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Longwood University in 2006. Brad also earned his Master of Science in Exercise Science from Virginia Commonwealth University.
Before joining the Midland Sports Rehab staff, Brad served as the Director of Sports Medicine for St. Bonaventure University Athletics. Prior to his time at St. Bonaventure, he served as an assistant athletic trainer at Virginia Commonwealth University and Kent State University. His knowledge and background add to the multi-disciplinary approach at Midland Sports Rehab. Brad and his wife Jennifer, who is the head women’s basketball coach at Saginaw Valley State University, live in Freeland with their son Jake and daughter Brynn.
Brad can be found working all over the Midland Sports Rehab Clinic, whether he is working with our Chiropractors and patients during the intake or regularly occurring treatments, providing Manual Therapy or Therapeutic Exercise to our Chiropractic or Physical Therapy patients, or assisting our front desk with patient questions or care plans. He also specializes in sports specific upper extremity evaluations and management with over 15 years of hands-on experience treating post-op and conservative patients to safely return to their sports and activity effectively and in a safe environment. Casey Shripka, PTA
Physical Therapy Assistant and Certified Personal Trainer – ACSM
Casey is a licensed physical therapist assistant and certified personal trainer and has been with Midland Sports Rehab since November 2020. She received her Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from Saginaw Valley State University in 2014 and went on to become a Certified Personal Trainer through the American College of Sports Medicine. She has worked with numerous types of clients over the years, especially in the corporate wellness setting. These include geriatrics, athletes, injury prevention programs, and others. In her previous setting she oversaw the physical therapy transition program for a year before taking over the personal training program for 3 years. After going through physical therapy, herself due to sports injuries, she decided she wanted to pursue a degree through Delta College for her Physical Therapist Assistant degree. Casey understands how patients are feeling when going through physical therapy and can build a personal connection with each patient based on her own personal experience. She loves to work with athletes as well as people with a variety of different orthopedic conditions. Seeing people improve on a day-by-day basis is what keeps her coming back and is the reason why she went into this field. In her free time, she enjoys working out, golfing, traveling with her husband, and playing with their dog.
While at Midland Sports Rehab you may work with Casey while going through Physical Therapy, receiving Manual Therapy and Therapeutic Exercise or working out in a Personal Training session. Casey’s main focus at Midland Sports Rehab is to transition patients from the basic exercises of Physical Therapy back into the active lifestyle each patient desires by challenging patients abilities to get back into their sports program, running schedule, gym workouts, or just feeling better and more active with little to no pain.
Front Desk Administrator and Patient Advocate
Emily has worked in chiropractic offices for the past 7 years and is happy to be a part of the MSR Team. She graduated from Washtenaw Community College in 2013 with an Associates in Administrative Assistant Technology. She loves to play a part in the wellness journey of our patients. Her husband also works in the healthcare field as a CNA at McLaren Bay Region Hospital and a nursing student at Delta College. In their free time, they enjoy hiking, cooking, reading, and spending time with family.
As a Patient Advocate, Emily reaches out to patients at the beginning, middle and end of their treatment to answer any questions they may have and work in conjunction with the treating provider to make the patients treatment and visits successful. Stop by or ask Emily any questions you may have, and she will be sure to guide you in the right direction.
Front Desk Administrator
Katelyn grew up in Saginaw, MI. She has experience in the chiropractic setting and is excited to be behind the front desk as a first and last point of contact for Midland Sports Rehab patients. She previously attended Saginaw Valley State University and is continuing her education in personal training at Delta College. She loves helping other people reach their goals. In her free time, she is an avid runner and is currently training for her first 50-mile race. Katelyn also enjoys working out, playing volleyball, and baking cookies.

Certified Personal Trainer
Jeff is a Bay City native and earned his personal training certification from the National Personal Training Institute in Orlando, FL. He has 13+ years of experience, ranging from youth and sports performance training, to residents in a nursing home and all ages in between. He enjoys the variation of needs from different clients and their specific goals.
Jeff has specialized in developing, organizing and directing boot camps, group fitness classes and individual personal training including functional movement, speed, strength, flexibility, core building, and cardiovascular exercises. He focuses on weight training techniques, observing and coaching as necessary for correct body mechanics. He also coaches clients through lifestyle changes to meet their goals.
In his free time, he enjoys working out, biking, and golfing with his wife and eight year old son.
